(Re)defining Business Intelligence

j0443765 150x150 (Re)defining Business IntelligenceWhat is business intelligence?  Ask ten co-workers to define business intelligence and you’ll likely get a number of answers
(including words like database, data warehouse, data mining, analytics, competitive information, visualization, risk analysis, etc.).
But, we’d be willing to bet that all of the definitions would be different.

Dr. Richard Herschel on BeyeNetwork has a wonderful piece on
defining Business Intelligence.  Richard suggests that we should give up on adjectives to describe business intelligence and instead
focus on “building an activist BI image” with a focus on positive imagery success stories. A very interesting read and a bit long.  But, we
are willing to bet that you’ve never heard business intelligence compared to soup before.  Intrigued?  Grab your spoon and dig in here.
