Jeff Vance of Datamation recently covered the business intelligence vendor market. In “Business Intelligence Software: Ten Leaders,” Vance calls the business intelligence software market a “David vs. Goliath” fight between “behemoth” vendors and “pure-play” vendors.
This article is an interesting piece summing up his view of the business intelligence software market; definitely read it for an understanding of his perspective.
Vance lists TIBCO Spotfire as number seven in the list of ten. Among his reasons are:
- Spotfire is advocating a new approach to business intelligence. Current business intelligence tools are still hard to use and companies need to find answer to new questions.
- Spotfire combines business process management (BPM), complex event processing (CEP), predictive analytics (PA) and visual data mining (DM). “Thus, Spotfire handles everything from real-time data capture and streaming to data analysis, forecasting and interactive reporting on a single platform.”
For each of the ten business intelligence software leaders listed, Vance includes key customers, key business intelligence executives and the location of the company’s headquarters.
Aren’t you curious to see who’s leading the business intelligence market?
