Running the SNP visualization mini-solution

Create a SNPs "chromosome view" and highlight chromosomal regions with statistical significance.

Requirements

  1. Spotfire DecisionSite version 9.0 or later. If you're not sure which version of DecisionSite you're running, select "About Spotfire DecisionSite" from the DecisionSite Help menu. The pop-up window will tell you which version you have installed.

Instructions

If at any point you need help, you can watch the movie to see these instructions being carried out.
  1. Right-click on the following two links and save the two files to your computer: Sample data, DecisionSite guide
    Here is a snippet of the data file:

    Notice the format of the data: Each row contains information about a single SNP.
  2. In DecisionSite, select Guides, Run from File, and select the snp_visualization_guide.sfg file. You will see a panel appear on the left side of the DecisionSite window.
  3. (Note: If you do not see a Guides menu in DecisionSite, or the Guides menu has no entries, click here to to view the instructions in a browser window.)
  4. Follow the instructions.
