How to Import Groups and Users From Flat File

In the old Spotfire 10.x, one can go to administration tools, and export a list of users to a flat file.

How can we import the flat file list of users, into SpotFire 3.0?  Please note that we have already installed SpotFire 3.0 on our server.

    Thanks,

    John W

    Hi,

Have you used the conversion tool when you installed 3.0?

This should help you get all your users and settings into the new server.

We were using an older version of decision site, therefore, we cannot use the conversion tool.

(Conversion tool can only be used when one is upgrading from the last version of Decision site)

    Hi,

Why don't you put all users as a group into an active directory / LDAP-group and connect your TIBCO Spotfire Server to this?

    Kind regards,

    Christof

The interface is the same as the old spotfire decision site

Use excel, enter user names in the first column, enter passwords in the second column

Save the file as a .csv file

    Open Internet Explorer

    Go to http://<New Spotfire Server>/spotfire/administrator

Login with spotfire admin login and password

    Click the User tab

    Click Import Users

Open the name of the saved .csv file

    Click OK
