Spotfire DecisionSite 9.1

DecisionSite 9.1 delivers many enhancements to streamline analytics in research, especially for those working with chemical structures. Greatly enhanced SDFile (*.sdf) support makes it a snap to start analyzing data quickly, and improved marker labeling allows users to see chemical structures right in the context of a plot. When done with an analysis, the flexible display controls allow users to export presentation-ready graphics, or simply export key structures, data, and calculations as another SDFile. All users will benefit from numerous general enhancements, like segment labels and vertical reference lines for bar charts. And now, DecisionSite can remove empty trellis panels from view to make scanning large data sets easier than ever. The 9.1 release also includes important Microsoft platform support updates; it runs on Microsoft Windows Vista and has updated integration points with Microsoft Office 2007.

Animated at-a-Glance: What’s New in DecisionSite 8.2

Analysis Enhancements - General analytics in DecisionSite 8.2 have been enhanced with several new features.  Visual enhancements include new 100% display views in the bar chart and a number labeling system for symbols such as currency icons.  A new Depivot tool converts "wide” data sets (many columns) into “tall-skinny” data sets.  A new column relationships comparison test, Kruskal-Wallis, finds significant relationships between categorical data and numeric results.  Finally, spend less time building Information Links (queries) to your data due to performance improvements in the Information Builder tool.

DecisionSite for Lead Discovery and Chemistry Services - In DecisionSite for Lead Discovery (DSLD) 8.2, support for chemical structure data analysis is significantly expanded.  First, there are numerous usability enhancements that will make analysis easier and more powerful, including support for multiple R groups in our table view and structure searches that can be saved in Guides.  Second, DSLD now includes out-of-the-box support for Isentris™ - MDL Draw™ and MDL Direct™ - the next generation of MDL® products.  Finally, we have created an underlying framework known as Chemistry Services, which supports data access, display, and editing for diverse chemical data formats and vendor tools.  The new framework will support integration with chemical cartridges and can be extended to support retrieve-only chemical data sources such as local files with SMILES strings.  Chemical display and drawing can also be extended to utilize tools provided by different vendors.  This new chemistry framework is designed to meet the needs of modern research organizations that must often use a mix of commercial toolsets for chemical searching and displaying.  Developing on top of Chemistry Services to support non-MDL® technologies can be commissioned from Spotfire Professional Services or taken on as a development project by customers with DecisionSite Developer, who will benefit from thorough framework documentation and code examples.

Platform Enhancements - From a platform perspective, version 8.2 enables IT organizations to respond more rapidly to end-user data-analysis needs through enhanced DecisionSite APIs, extended Microsoft®.NET support, and DecisionSite Builder enhancements.

Spotfire DecisionSite 8.1.1

In the DecisionSite 8.1.1 release, we have focused on three major areas. First, enabling organizations to utilize and spread statistical expertise within the organization. Second, continue to expand the analytic application building capabilities of the product. And third, DecisionSite MapConnect has been improved to better enhance the data analysis capabilities of ESRI® ArcGIS™ with the visual analysis in Spotfire DecisionSite. Version 8.1.1 also supports Japanese menus and Help system in the DecisionSite Client.

Utilize existing statistical expertise
- Computation Services is a key component of the DecisionSite product that enables you to utilize and spread statistical expertise within the organization. It allows general DecisionSite users to take advantage of the custom statistical methods directly from self-describing DecisionSite Guides without having to be experts or statisticians.

Building analytic applications
- The development framework for Computation Services allows developers to completely control how to utilize the external computation engines, and where to embed these capabilities in their applications. Version 8.1.1 also provides enhanced Tool APIs and an extended set of helper objects helping developers to become more efficient.

Extended analysis of joined spatial and relational data - DecisionSite MapConnect enhances the data analysis capabilities of ESRI® ArcGIS™ with the visual analysis in Spotfire DecisionSite. DecisionSite 8.1.1 greatly improves how to handle and analyze data originating from disparate sources.
